Someone finally figured out how to power things without cords, I rejoice!

Life has been pretty challenging lately, love is tough, work is tougher.  I like to think a vacation would be nice, but knowing work would be piling up and going to hell while I was gone kills the enjoyment of that idea pretty quick.  Hmm, what to do when even hope is stressful to think about?  Yeah I will suck it up and get over it, just a rough patch:)

In the meantime, this site is lovely for a bit of distraction:

Scientists are now using rat neurons to control a robot, one of the interesting facts I heard while looking into this was that since the rat brains only live for 3 months inside the robot, they have to be replaced and the robots behave differently each time.  Yeah, Creepy.

I received a very beautiful guitar for my birthday, my books/DVD just arrived from Amazon so I can begin re-learning the 5 years of music theory I had as a kid playing piano.

It’s true, mathematicians have ran lots of calculations and the news isn’t good..or bad.  Check it out over at ScienceNews.

Researchers began with the best known information about the position and orbital velocity of each of the 10 bodies, and marched simulations forward in nine-day steps for the next 5 billion years, the projected life of the sun.   They determined that Earth will either collide with other orbiting bodies and be destroyed, or everything will be perfectly fine.  Phew, thanks guys!  I guess all of those grown ups were right, math does come in handy

Saw Monty Python’s Spamalot on Saturday night, really enjoyed it for the scenes ripped from the Holy Grail but as a Monty Python fan was simultaneously disapointed at most of the changes they made to some of those scenes and to the additional (seemingly) non-Monty Python content throughout the production.  Eric Idle was involved in creating the show but most of the content written for the show itself simply wasn’t funny, or was overly goofy without the intelligent humor Monty Python fans love so much.  All of that said, my mother saw it in Alaska and totally loved it so I guess they did a good job of making it appealing to the general audience.

Glad I saw it and it was a great Birthday present but overall probably not worth the huge price tag if you are a die hard Monty Python fan.

Arrived to the state park Saturday around noon which is located in Scotts Valley California, took a nice stroll down one of the trails then set up camp while we waited for the other campers.  Poison oak everywhere which made me a little paranoid,  could not step off the beaten trail without being surrounded.  Met some fun new people, laughed a lot, did some more lite hiking and avoided mosquito bites, overall awesome trip.

So to continue with my glowing obsession, check this out.  ‘LumiGram‘ has finally integrated newish light technology into clothing, something I have been waiting for :)  This may actually convince me to go to a rave.

FlashWear has also been making some fun light shirts for awhile now which I got for my little sister a couple years ago.

Can you believe it? Humans have successfully created transgenic primates.  What trait did we infuse into these cute little furballs for this epic scientific breakthrough? They GLOW!  Yeah, this is what I want for my birthday

Had a lovely evening in Santa Cruz on Saturday; watched the sun set from the beach, had an awesome dinner then best cookies in the world for dessert.  Spent the remainder of the weekend in Lake Tahoe, the experience can only be described as ‘teh win’.   I think I am still coming down from the whirlwind of the past week.  So, so, so happy.  Yay:)
